Sydney Bush Walkers are Back on Track!

The SBW Walks Program resumed in May. There has been a steady build up in day and overnight walks as restrictions have eased, and as National Parks have opened up more areas following the bushfires.

The monthly information Nights will resume on 8 July but the first is already full due to very limited numbers imposed by government restrictions. The first Basic Skills Workshop for the year has been held on 27 June. Another will be planned soon. It is still not feasible to run Social Nights .

SBW soon established a reputation for doing tough walks. One particularly rugged and adventurous band became known as The Tigers.

They and people like like Myles Dunphy and Paddy Pallin laid the foundations for the club we have today. Women like Dot Butler (The Barefoot Walker) also established a strong tradition of adventure.
