It may be winter but there are still snakes around like this Death Adder on a Colo ledge in May. On the shortest day of the year, a member had an uncomfortably close encounter with a Black snake in Marra Marra. Both the snake and the member panicked, running like hell in opposite directions.

The next Basic Skills Workshop will be on 8 September. The last BSW attracted a record 50 participants plus the facilitators.  The workshop will be on a Sunday to assist people whose schedules mean they cannot usually attend on a Saturday.

A couple of years ago, a member who followed a certain Christian faith asked for a Sunday BSW because he had to go to church on Saturdays. Problem was the person who ran the BSWs went to church on Sundays.  SBW was not able to resolve this theological dilemma until we got a Buddhist coordinator.

No water at the Devils Rock campsite so a 4WD took 40 litres in the week before.  This party of SBWs back packed the containers to the cars on the second day of their overnight walk.
