An understanding of bush navigation, or 'nav', is an essential skill for bushwalkers and budding adventurers. Owning a GPS isn't replacement for these skills, so we at SBW encourage all bush users to broaden their knowledge in this area.
Below is a series of documents designed to fill in some gaps in your knowledge of nav, however we strongly recommend seeking instruction from experienced outdoors people. Joining a club and seeking instruction in navigation is a great way to gain confidence and greater understanding.
